Kaho Shibuya

Kaho Shibuya is a Japanese cosplayer, streamer, writer, and former adult film actress. Born in Tokyo on May 20, 1991, she grew up watching anime and reading manga. In 2016, she earned certifications as an English teacher and childcare worker. Shibuya wrote for the Tokyo Sports newspaper as a baseball reporter, covering Nippon Professional Baseball’s Pacific League from 2012 to 2014.

While taking a break from her work at Tokyo Sports, Shibuya briefly worked as an English teacher. Shibuya then accepted a part-time job writing reviews of adult products, aiming to become a freelance writer.

AV production companies began contacting Shibuya through her agency, inviting her to perform anonymously in their videos. This led to her adult video debut at 23 years old, in November 2014, under an exclusive contract with Alice Japan.

From May 2015 to April 2016, Shibuya joined the Japanese AV idol group Sexy-J as its ninth member, also recording a single in August 2015. From April 2017 to November 2019, Shibuya hosted Kaho Shibuya’s Tawawa Challenge on the Japanese network Skyperfect TV.

In 2020, she published the book The Japanese Porn Industry Unmasked: An Insider’s Guide, an autobiography detailing her experiences in the adult film industry; an English edition was released in 2023. In 2022, Shibuya stated that while she has no intention of hiding her past adult film career, she is no longer involved in the industry, having retired.

In September 2023, she sent several cease and desist letters to adult film companies, demanding they cease the sale of all her previous adult films. On December 23, 2023, Shibuya announced her actions were successful, and her name had been removed from adult film anthologies she had appeared in.
